Identify your Toxins
1. Stimulants. Alcohol, coffee, tea, tobacco. Reduce your intake of these to one per day, or better still, swap to green tea with a slice of lemon.
2. Stress. Emotional upset, worry or anxiety. Believe it or not these conditions cause toxins to be released by the body as well as using up essential nutrients.
3. Environmental toxins. Air, water and cleaning fluids to name a few. Tap water can contain up to 800 chemicals, so filter your water and banish sodas or fizzy drinks.
4. Food. Many common foods we eat contain natural toxins. Avoiding processed foods and keeping a varied diet is important. Organic food is preferable.
5. Toxins produced by the body. Constipation, antibiotic use and poor diet all contribute to the natural load of toxins produced by the body. Gut toxins can produce symptoms such as IBS, hormonal imbalances, poor immunity and allergies.
