Can’t refuse a cream cake? Practically lick the wrapper of every doughnut you come across? Or does chocolate always scream ‘eat me’ at you? Whether its chips, cheddar or chabilis, everyone has something they can’t say no to. You don’t need to cut out your favourite foods to stay healthy or lose weight. In fact depriving yourself of them totally can actually make your cravings worse

Avoid negative language - you are not ‘on a diet’, you are ‘enjoying healthy eating’. Listen to your body - it will tell you what and when it needs to eat.

Make new associations - eg. a chocolate eclair is not a delicious treat, its a fatty sugary lump of empty calories! Love every meal - create a picture on your plate and take the time to sit and savour your work, even if you are eating alone.

Lose the stress, take at least 20 minutes each day to relax. Take pride in your body - whatever its shape. Its an astounding machine and deserves the best possible fuel and care. Throw away the scales - the actual figures are far less important than your health and well-being. Your wardrobe will tell you how your shape is changing.

Don’t give up. Accept your actions, forgive yourself and move on.
