Colour Maintenance

Saturday, June 17th, 2006

Detergent body washes tend to strip the colour, so use washes that are detergent free.

Avoid body oils, they degrade the colour as will the chlorine in pools, which acts like a bleach.

Take showers instead of baths and pat dry skin, rather than rubbing.

Fake tans are drying and flaky skin equals a patchy tan, so moisturise with a non-oily lotion daily.

Buff your Skin

Saturday, June 17th, 2006

Sloughing off dead skin cells brings fresh, new, plump cells to the surface. It not only makes your skin glow, but also creates a smooth even base for self-tanning products. Exfoliate two to three times a week, and always before apply false tan. Rehydrate with a body moisturiser at least once a day.

The 3 point self-tan plan

Saturday, June 17th, 2006

1. Before you start, give your pores time to settle down, wait at least 24 hours after hair removal before applying a tan. Also, use a light oil-free moisturiser on dry patches. (if the skin is very dry, the result could turn out patchy)

2. Application. First, put on latex gloves. Start at the thighs, then work down the legs. Mix whatever’s left on your hands with a little moisutriser and smooth over your feet. Next, move to your stomach and back, then the tops of your arms and downwards towards your wrists. Do the inside of your arms, half tan, half moisturiser. Use undiluted tann on your chest and bust areaa, then apply the surplus to your neck and face.

3. to finish remove the gloves and apply diluted tan to your hands - use sparingly around knuckles and cuticles.
